History
The training area was built around the time the main MOD took over Anzio Camp it the early 1980`s and was used for all sorts of military activity from off-road training and mortar/artillery training to helicopter landing and Orienteering.

After remembering the Army courses up on the Staffordshire hills from when We were children, We decided to have a drive up there one evening after discovering they too have been abandoned like the main camp. There’s not much to see but fields and barns that have gone back to the hands of the farmers and lots of old signs advising you not to enter the area.
